Wenger and Mourinho at it again!

Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho's personal attacks are beginning to overshadow the game.

On Saturday the showdown between Chelsea and Arsenal was a cracking game of football. Whoever you support, and I support neither, Arsenal were out-gunned by a dominent Chelsea side who scored 2 outstanding goals - read all about it by clicking here.

But what are we all talking about - Mourinho and Wenger's slanging match! And I suppose I'm guilty too!

So on Sunday we all thought that it was Jose who had been the unsporting one by running into the tunnel at the end of the match, but today the press is full of a different story.

Last week, in a moment of Christmas spirit, Jose sent out Chelsea Christmas cards to his 19 other Premiership counterparts, but he reserved a special handwritten message for the Gunners boss. The message apparently included an apology for the recent remarks and a wish to bury the hatchet.

When the letter arrived at Highbury, Arsene choked on his mince pie whilst one of the Arsenal back-room staff tried to find out if the message was genuine.

At Sunday's match Mourinho apparently waited around for Wenger at the start of the

match in order to shake his hand, but was ignored by the Arsenal manager. And this was how it carried on during the match aswell.

When the match was over Mourinho had had enough and buggered off quickly.

Personally I'd have hung around to shake Wenger's hand. It was a win-win situation for Mourinho! Either Wenger would have ignored the gesture and millions of viewers would have seen an unsporting action. Or, if they had shaken hands, Mourninho could have rubbed it in a bit more by saying "better luck next time, keep trying!"

Either way, according to Sam Allardyce it's all because the pair are foreigners: "I don't think that is the British way."

Perhaps having loads of money and winning all the time is just plain boring for Mourinho and this is his way of spicing it up!

Arsenal and Chelsea have played their matches now this season, with the spoils going to Chelsea, perhaps the two will shut up and let the football do the talking, but I doubt it!
