Sports View for January
As the NFL playoffs approach, we look back at our pre-season Super Bowl prediction. I think I’ll stick with Minnesota vs New England. (I wouldn’t bet the farm on it, but it’s as good a bet as any other two teams.)

Paintball- Can Children Play?
Is your child wanting to play Paintball!!! OK!! It can be a GREAT sport for children if you get the right paintball gear and the right playing field. There are risks..but then no matter what you let them do there are risks….For your peace of mind you will want to make sure your child is as safe as he or she can be on the playing field…
Playing on as established paintball field can be safer than playing at home..The rules, both playing rules and safety rules, should be inforced by referees ..They will be required to wear their masks( goggles), Chronograph to make sure their gun ( marker) isn’t shooting too fast and to keep their barrel plugged when not playing…They will not be allowed to shoot another player within a certain range, when playing on established paaintball fields where referees are present…….New players tend to be grouped together at established fields……If the children play Paintball in the woods or in your backyard it is up to the players to make sure they follow common sense safety rules and they often don’t!!
Visit an established field before letting your child play there. How is the place run? Are there safety features in place( clearly defined playing fields and observation boxes)? Are the rules clearly posted and enforced?. On the paintball field itself, are referees alert and acing in a responsible manner? Ask the field owner when
is good day for a newer player to come out..Talk to other players about their experiences…
After visiting a field you can make a better decision about letting your child play..trust your instincts..You be the responsible parent…No place is perfect but if you have a bad feeling about a field, don’t let your child go…try to find one you can be comfortable with
Paintball gear comes in all different price ranges. Go to a reliable sporting goods store to ask advice before purchasing your child’s paintball gear and apparel. The apparel needs to fit properly!! You need to purchase proper pads, vest, mask and especially good goggles. The eyes are the most likely place to get injured. Even a that, Paintball has fewer injuries than other contact sports!!……...
With a little research on your part, your child can enter into a sport that can offer a world of fun. Go to www.paint-ball-supply to see the latest in safety gear and paintball supply. Like any other contact sport they can learn a lot about fair play and sportsmanship!!
